Boating is one of the very few sports in which able-bodied and disabled sailors can participate on equal terms. Ogston Sailing Club has the equipment, training and experience to provide safe and enjoyable sailing to people with a range of disabilities.
We have a fleet of Challenger trimarans which provide a stable platform for beginners, but can also deliver a fast and exhilarating sail. In training, a “buddy” seat is fitted to the trimaran enabling beginners to learn with an experienced helm sat alongside.
Challenger sailors are encouraged to take part in normal club racing; this takes place on Wednesday evenings through the summer and on Saturdays and Sundays throughout most of the year.
There is full access for disabled sailors to all the facilities in the clubhouse and boathouse.
